Inhaled Biologics: Molecular Insight and Formulation Strategy

22 Oct 2026

Developing biologics for pulmonary delivery starts with the molecule. Molecular structure, physicochemical properties and susceptibility to degradation can all influence stability, formulation feasibility and aerosol performance before a liquid or dry-powder pathway is selected.

Aptar Pharma will host the educational webinar “Decoding Inhaled Biologics: From Molecular Structure to Formulation Strategy” on 2 November 2026. The session will examine how molecular understanding, developability assessment and predictive science can support earlier formulation and platform decisions.

Join Aptar Pharma to explore how molecular understanding and predictive science can guide formulation and platform decisions for inhaled biologics.

Presented by David Farrow, Director Scientific Affairs at Aptar Pharma, the webinar will explore the scientific principles that underpin successful inhaled biologic development, from molecular characterization through formulation strategy and delivery-platform selection. As interest in pulmonary delivery of biologics continues to grow, development teams are increasingly faced with questions around molecular stability, manufacturability, aerosol performance, and the suitability of different delivery approaches. Addressing these questions early can help inform development strategy and reduce uncertainty as programs progress.

Drawing on Aptar Pharma's expertise in inhalation science and biologic developability assessment, the session will examine how molecular structure and physicochemical properties can influence formulation decisions and overall development pathways. Attendees will gain insights into key degradation mechanisms and developability risks, as well as the role that predictive science and in silico modelling can play in identifying potential challenges before extensive experimental work begins.

The webinar will also discuss considerations when evaluating liquid and dry-powder delivery pathways, highlighting how a molecule-first approach can help guide platform selection. In addition, attendees will be introduced to Aptar BioLogic™ capabilities, including the use of Digital Twin methodologies to complement laboratory studies and support more informed formulation and development decisions.

The webinar is intended for formulation scientists, pulmonary drug-delivery specialists, biologics development teams, CMC experts, device engineers and pharmaceutical R&D leaders.
