Aptar Named One of Barron’s 100 Most Sustainable U.S. Companies

Aptar has been named one of Barron’s 100 Most Sustainable U.S. Companies for the sixth consecutive year and is ranked number 29 out of 100 companies for 2024.

Aptar has been named one of Barron’s 100 Most Sustainable U.S. Companies for the sixth consecutive year and is ranked number 29 out of 100 companies for 2024.

Tanda, Aptar President and CEO. “We believe in running our company in a sustainable manner and innovating towards more sustainable product solutions, which is also a growth driver and competitive advantage for us.”

Aptar has made considerable progress advancing key areas of its global sustainability strategy. Recent Aptar highlights include:

  • Receiving the Platinum level rating from EcoVadis, which places the company among the top 1% of the nearly 90,000 companies rated by EcoVadis across all industries
  • Sourcing approximately 97% of global electricity consumption from renewable sources and certifying more than 60% of sites as Landfill Free through Aptar’s internal program
  • Significantly surpassing the company’s original goals for emissions reduction to the WB2°C scenario and as a result, updating these goals to be more ambitious with Scope 1 and 2 absolute emissions reduction targets aligned to the 1.5°C scenario and have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)
  • Being named to the CDP Supplier Engagement Leaderboard, placing the company among the top 8% assessed for supplier engagement on climate change, based on 2022 CDP disclosure and cited for contributions to emissions reductions throughout the value chain
  • Focusing on the eco-design of products, which is aligned to that of Aptar’s partners at the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development and many other organizations who are working towards a more circular economy

This is the seventh year Barron’s has published its list of companies with the highest ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) scores. Barron’s partnered with Calvert, a leader in ESG investing, to build the list of the most sustainable companies. Calvert evaluated the 1,000 largest publicly traded companies and the top 100 achieved the highest scores across 230 ESG metrics, from workplace diversity to greenhouse-gas emissions.
