Aptar has achieved EcoVadis Platinum status in recognition of its sustainability efforts. This is the fourth consecutive year Aptar achieved Platinum. The Platinum rating places Aptar among the top 1% of the more than 125,000 companies rated by EcoVadis across all industries

“Since 2021, Aptar has achieved EcoVadis Platinum status reflecting our exemplary leadership, collaboration and commitment towards a more sustainable future,” said Stephan B. Tanda, Aptar President and CEO. “Our focus on sustainability affords us a competitive advantage. The world’s leading brands turn to us not only to support their sustainability commitments and strategy, but to benchmark best practices including our eco-efficient operations, sourcing of renewable energy and development of products that are more recyclable, reusable, refillable and incorporate more sustainable materials.”

EcoVadis Methodology:

EcoVadis is a global standard for business sustainability ratings. Its methodology is aligned to several established frameworks and sustainability regulatory requirements. The EcoVadis Sustainability Scorecard illustrates company performance across four key themes: environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement, with an additional ranking on carbon. Aptar is proud to have achieved EcoVadis Platinum status in accordance with this criteria.

Sustainability + Aptar:

In addition, collaboration with responsible suppliers is one of the ways Aptar achieves more sustainable outcomes. The company works with EcoVadis to obtain data for its Supplier Screening Program. Formally integrating social and environmental screenings into Aptar’s existing purchasing program allows the company to better understand risks and performance areas, increase transparency and work on continuous improvement with suppliers.

Beth Holland, Aptar’s Chief Sustainability Officer, shared, “More and more customers seek an EcoVadis ranking as a key indicator for doing business together. We hear from our customers and key stakeholders about the importance of sustainability, not only in product strategy, but their need to partner with companies where a strong, overarching Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy is a business imperative. We are proud to be recognized by EcoVadis for our year-over-year sustainability progress and the unwavering commitment by our global teams to care for our planet and drive towards a more circular plastics economy.”

Aptar’s focus on sustainability is reflected in our core values as a company and we are committed to being a responsible, inclusive global corporate citizen. Aptar is also an active member of the United Nations Global Compact, the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. Aptar was recently named among America’s Most Responsible Companies 2024 by Newsweek and one of Barron’s 100 Most Sustainable U.S. Companies.

Supplier Engagement Rating:

In addition to the fact that Aptar has achieved EcoVadis Platinum status, Aptar also received an ‘A’ supplier engagement rating from the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). This is higher than the Global average of ‘C’, and higher than the plastic product manufacturing sector average of ‘C’. As a part of Aptar’s global sustainability strategy, the Company collaborates with thought leaders to cultivate an innovative supply chain that is both socially inclusive and environmentally conscious, to meet customer and consumer needs.
