Capital Best Employers Methodology
In order to gain insight into what French employees think of the country’s biggest employers, French magazine Capital has teamed up with Statista, a global specialist in economic data analysis, for the 10th consecutive year to compile its annual Best Employers list.
In 2024, Statista conducted an extensive online survey involving 20,000 employees working for companies with over 500 staff members in France. Respondents were asked for their honest opinions on their employers and direct competitors, with no interference from their HR departments.
The survey includes two main questions: “On a scale of 0 to 10, how likely are you to recommend your employer to an acquaintance or family member?” and “Based on everything you know about the following employers in your industry, would you recommend them to an acquaintance or family member?”. Other criteria such as salaries, benefits, work environment, career opportunities, etc. are also assessed and a score out of 10 is calculated, with a higher weighting given to employees’ opinions about their own company.
Out of more than 2,100 companies surveyed, only the 500 with the highest scores were selected.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
In June 2023, Capital published its Diversity Champions list highlighting French companies that have implemented effective policies to address inequalities and promote inclusion for all. Out of 6,000 companies, Aptar was ranked 96th with a score of 8.18 out of 10. Aptar Pharma was also ranked 4th out of 162 companies assessed in the Healthcare and Pharmaceuticals category.
