About Shelterhouse
Shelterhouse is a nonprofit organization committed to providing safety, shelter, advocacy and counseling to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Shelterhouse was formed in 1976 by a group of concerned citizens who facilitated temporary shelter for victims in volunteers’ homes. Over the next four decades, Shelterhouse has helped tens of thousands of people in the Midland and Gladwin Counties of Wisconsin, USA, find new lives – free of domestic violence and sexual assault. Each year, Shelterhouse answers 2,500 crisis calls, provided 4,500 nights of shelter for those afraid to stay in their own homes, and impact 12,000 additional people through community education and outreach.

Aptar’s Charitable Foundation:
Aptar’s Charitable Foundation donation to Shelterhouse is a Partner Gift.
The $25,000 donation will be used to support children’s counseling and therapy program. The program often works with traumatized children through means of one-on-one counseling and/or play therapy.

In addition to Aptar’s Charitable Foundation donation to Shelterhouse, Aptar actively strives to support the communities where we live and work. We were recently named among the “Best 100 Corporate Citizens” by 3BL Media and earlier this year we were recognized by Newsweek and Barrons for our efforts to cultivate a culture focused on creating a sustainable, diverse, equitable and inclusive culture.
