A Circular Economy
Aptar’s vision is to design products and processes with people and the planet in mind and focusing on three main areas for more sustainable product development: recycled materials, recyclability and reusability. At Aptar Beauty + Home, we are focused on developing new mono-material solutions or modifying existing ones with more recycled resins. “We are expanding our resin portfolio, with our new PCR Plus resin specifically designed for the cosmetic industry and continuing our three-year partnership with PureCycle, to accelerate the use of Ultra-Pure Recycled Polypropylene (UPR) into dispensing solutions” shares Benedicte Luisi, Sustainability Aptar Beauty + Home. Our experts are also designing reloading systems such as long-lasting casing with recharging capabilities and helping startups with their new business models of refilling at home or in-store.
As a signatory of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s New Plastics Economy Global Commitment, we are working hard towards our 2025 targets to incorporate more recycled content into product offerings and have our dispensing solutions for the beauty, personal care, home care, food and beverage markets be 100% reusable, recyclable or compostable. To achieve these commitments, we continue to pursue initiatives to deploy best-in-class innovation practices and scout novel technologies developed by startups, to reach packaging industry’s sustainability and circularity targets.
