Healthcare Packaging: The Future of Medical Devices

The connected device industry has changed significantly over the past years and has many benefits as well as developmental challenges.

Essentially connected devices are either add-ons or integrated and choice is primarily driven by cost and sustainability issues. This interview reviews the evolution of connected devices, strategies for improving patient’s health outcomes and broader issues associated with sustainability. Regulatory approvals, reimbursement as well as real world evidence and Digital Therapeutics are recognised goals but poor patient compliance and adherence, management of personal data and adoption of digital healthcare tools are all highlighted as key contributory factors when it comes to the overall challenges of successful adoption of connected devices.
